Data Privacy Solicitor

5+ PQE

Central London

Negotiable Package

Our client is widely regarded as a pioneering firm, with a strategic commercial approach characterised by a willingness and ability to challenge and innovate. Acting for an impressive range of clients including multi-nationals, social enterprises, household name charities and public bodies. The first UK law firm to be certified as a B Corporation, we exist not only for profit but also to make a material positive impact on society and the environment.

What is required?

The main focus of the role is to advise private, public and third sector clients across the full spectrum of data privacy law. This will include the opportunity to develop niche expertise, for example in relation to the interaction between data privacy law and fundraising regulation.

This exceptional opportunity working alongside the Head of Data Privacy will allow an ambitious individual to truly thrive with the support of several specialist fee earners and a PSL. It will also involve a close working relationship with the firm’s leading Charity and Social Enterprise law team.

There is also the opportunity to supervise junior fee earners, participate in business development and contribute to knowledge management. Our salaries are commensurate with hours and billing targets of a firm our size. We are committed to offer flexibility and responsibility to our lawyers as well as providing a good work-life balance

What do you need?

The role requires a self-motivated data privacy specialist with the ability to excel at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

  • A minimum of 5 years PQE gained in data privacy, ideally within a well-regarded law firm or currently working in-house but keen to move to private practice. Thorough experience of the full range of data protection and e-privacy compliance requirements, including:

  • The General Data Protection Regulation; Privacy notices and data protection policies; Outsourcing arrangements; International data transfer solutions; Employee monitoring and data use; Whistleblowing; Marketing; Data retention; Rights of individuals; Data breach; Online and app privacy issues.
